For any HPE Gen10 Plus/Gen11 platforms configured with the controllers listed in the Scope section below, any SUM versions prior to 10.6.3 may terminate unexpectedly during the localhost inventory process. This issue occurs during the discovery process while enumerating local storage components. As a result, SUM is unable to deploy. When this issue occurs, no error messages are displayed to the end user. SUM will simply shut down. This issue does not affect any direct firmware update methods that may be used without SUM. SUM 10.6.0 (or earlier) has been included in the SSPs shown below. Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2023.09.00.00 (or earlier) Gen11 Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2023.10.00.00 (or earlier)
Scope
In the scenario described above, any HPE Gen10 Plus/Gen11 platforms using SUM versions prior to 10.6.3, and configured with any of the following controllers running firmware version 03.01.26.036: HPE SR932i-p Gen10 Plus x32 Lanes 8GB Wide Cache NVMe/SAS 24G PCIe4 x16 Controller HPE SR932i-p Gen11 x32 Lanes 8GB Wide Cache PCI SPDM Plug-in Storage Controller HPE SR416i-a Gen10 Plus x16 Lanes 4GB Cache NVMe/SAS 24G Controller HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 x16 Lanes 4GB Cache SPDM Mezzanine Storage Controller
Resolution
To avoid this issue, install either of the following: Smart Update Manager for Microsoft Windows Server version 10.6.3 (or later). Smart Update Manager for Linux version 10.6.3 (or later). SUM 10.7.0 has been included in the SSPs shown below.
