On HPE servers with Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) enabled and running VMWare ESXi, there is no VROC out-of-band (OOB) agent for VMWare ESXi to associate with HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO); therefore, the Intel VMD Controller status in the iLO Device Inventory web page displays as Unknown:
This issue has been observed on any HPE servers using VMware ESXi in which the VROC out-of-band (OOB) agent is supported (platforms with Gen4 and Gen5 Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors using VMD 3.0), and where VROC is enabled. Affected VMWare ESXi versions are listed in the Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel VROC) and Intel Volume Management Device (Intel VMD) . This issue will be fixed in a future VROC OOB agent update. This document will be updated as more information becomes available.
