On any HPE ProLiant Gen10 or Gen10 plus or Gen11 server configured with SATA drives in AHCI mode when running VMware ESXi, the drive firmware will fail to update and display the following message: " The installation was not attempted because the required hardware is not present, the software is current, or not applicable or there is nothing to install ." The issue will occur because the selected components will be skipped and will not be deployed when updates are performed in the Online mode. In addition, this issue will only occur on VMware ESXi Operating Systems (OS), but not on other operating systems.
