A configuration change made in October 2023 may not allow the Cohesity software to recognize the two disks in the 2SFF x4 NVMe U.2 BC Kit of the server (Part Number P26439-B21). The configuration change was to remove the Smart Array to NVMe adapter kit (Part Number P38585-B21, which is no longer available) and instead use the NVMe port on the CPU 1 Riser Kit (Part Number P26465-B21). The result was a change in the PCIe addresses for the 2 drives in the 2SFF x4 NVMe U.2 BC Kit which the Cohesity versions earlier than 6.8.2 may not recognize. Cohesity SW versions 6.8.2 and 7.1.2 have been updated to recognize the new PCIe addresses. The Cohesity SW shipping from the HPE factory is version 6.8.1 and that version may not properly recognize the 2 disks in the 2-drive cage.

Resolution
Install Cohesity software version 6.8.2 or 7.1.2. Contact Cohesity Support to determine which version to install and for help installing the new software.
