Description:

Info

On HPE ProLiant Gen11 and HPE Alletra Storage Servers with the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) with Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) 8.6 enabled, incorrect drive location information may be displayed on the system information pages provided in the screenshots below. NOTE : Since iLO relies on the drive location to conduct LED management for the corresponding drive, LED management is also impacted. This issue can be observed on the following pages: The Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) page on BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) On the iLO 6 Storage page On the iLO 6 Integrated Management Log page

Scope

HPE ProLiant Gen11 and HPE Alletra Storage Servers when selecting the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) with Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) 8.6 enabled.

Resolution

This issue will be resolved in a future release of Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC). This advisory will be updated when a solution is available. As a workaround, to prevent the incorrect drive location from being displayed, use the "Enabled All CPU NVMe Root Ports" option instead of the "Enabled Individual CPU NVMe Root Ports" option on the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU).
