IMPORTANT : The iLO 2 Firmware Version 1.82 (or later), iLO 2 Management Controller Driver Version 1.12.0.0 (or later), ProLiant Support Pack Version Version 8.30 (or later) and HP Smart Update Firmware DVD Version 9.10 (B) (or later) is considered a critical fix and is required to fix the issue detailed below. HP strongly recommends immediate application of this critical fix. Neglecting to perform the required action could leave the server in an unstable condition, which could potentially result in Server rebooting and displaying Event ID 57 error messages. By disregarding this notification and not performing the recommended resolution, the customer accepts the risk of incurring future related errors. When using iLO 2 Firmware Version 1.81 (or earlier), iLO 2 Management Controller Driver Version 1.11.1.0 (or earlier), ProLiant Support Pack Version Version 8.25 (A) (or earlier) or HP Smart Update Firmware DVD Version 9.00 (or earlier), a ProLiant server may unexpectedly reboot when running Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows XP. The following event ID 57 duplicate sensor error messages may be displayed in the Windows Event Log: In addition, the following Automated System Recovery (ASR) message may be displayed in the Windows Event Log: Information Events 1090 Server Agents bl460c N/A System Information Agent: Health: The server is operational again. The server has previously been shutdown by the Automatic Server Recovery (ASR) feature and has just become operational again. Furthermore, the following ASR message may be displayed in the Integrated Management Log (IML): ASR Detected by System ROM Automatic Server Recovery 1 Critical 1 As well as, the following error messages may display in the Windows System Event Log because of a timing issue between the Windows Health Driver and iLO 2 firmware Version 1.81 (or earlier):

Any ProLiant server configured as follows: Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.81 (or earlier) iLO 2 Management Controller Driver Version 1.11.1.0 (or earlier) ProLiant Support Pack (PSP) 8.25 (A) (or earlier) HP Smart Update Firmware DVD Version 9.00 (or earlier) Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows XP

Resolution

In order to prevent unexpected server reboots, upgrade to both of the following: Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.82 (or later) iLO 2 Management Controller Driver Version 1.12.0.0 (or later) IMPORTANT : If the server is a ProLiant DL380 G6 server, also perform the actions in the following advisory: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c01955503 iLO 2 Firmware Version 1.82 (or later) and iLO 2 Management Controller Driver Version 1.12.0.0 (or later) Driver Separately Upgrade Method Perform the following steps to upgrade to iLO 2 Firmware Version 1.82 (or later): Select the following URL: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home Under category, select BladeSystem or Servers. Select BladeSystem Server Blades or ProLiant/tc Servers. Select the appropriate Server Series. Select the appropriate server. Select the appropriate operating system. Select the Download button next to the description Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 Version 1.82 (or later). Reboot the server.
