When a ProLiant server configured with VMware ESX 4.0 U2 and the HP Management Agents for VMware Version 8.5.1 reboots after an Automatic Server Recovery (ASR), the System Management Homepage (SMH) may not be populated with Insight Agent information. The issue is observed in the following installation scenario: Configure the ProLiant BL685c G7 server blade with VMware ESX 4.0 U2, NIC drivers, and HP Management Agents for VMware ESX Version 8.5.1. Browse and log into SMH to ensure SMH is populated with Insight Agent information. If an ASR is triggered, the server reboots. After the ProLiant 685c G7 server is rebooted, SMH may no longer be populated with the Management Agent information when attempting to refresh the page.
Scope
Any ProLiant BL685c G7 server blade running VMware ESX 4.0 U2 with HP Management Agents for VMware ESX Version 8.5.1 and using System Management Homepage.
Resolution
A future release of the HP Management Agents for VMware ESX will resolve this issue and the Management Agent information will remain in SMH after an ASR reboot. This advisory will be updated when additional information is available. As a workaround, After the ASR reboot, open another browser for SMH and log in. The Management Agent information will be displayed in SMH. OR After the ASR reboot, while the SMH browser is open, log out and log back in. The Management Agent information will be displayed in SMH after logging back in.
