HPE Storage SAN Director Switch
HPE Multi-protocol Router Blade Options
No affected releases provided.
No fixed releases provided.
An integrated routing license on Fabric OS (FOS) v7.0.1 and v7.0.1a is incorrectly required for VEX_Ports on HP SAN Director Multi-Protocol Router Blade Options to allow device import/export. As a result, an HP DC SAN Backbone Director Switch or an HP DC04 SAN Director Switch running FOS v7.0.1 or v7.0.1a with no integrated routing license installed can configure VEX_Ports on an HP SAN Director Multi-Protocol Router Blade, but hosts will not discover targets through the VEX_Ports. No message is displayed to indicate why target discovery has failed. This incorrect behavior occurs after upgrading to FOS v7.0.1 or v7.0.1a. All other functionality is unaffected.
Products affected by this advisory are the HP SAN Director Multi-Protocol Router Blades installed on an HP DC SAN Backbone Director Switch or HP DC04 SAN Director Switch with FOS v7.0.1 or v7.0.1a.
This issue is corrected in FOS v7.0.1b, which is scheduled to be released by HP in June 2012. Workaround The following three options are available: Downgrade to FOS v7.0.0x or earlier. Install an integrated routing license. Install a temporary integrated routing license (available through the HP Software depot, at http://software.hp.com , as a 60–day universal temporary license).
