The HP Insight Management WBEM Provider reports an incorrect value for the processor model on all HP ProLiant servers. For example, SMX_Processor class reports the following value for the description: Intel(R) Family: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) 2.5GHz (x86 Family 179 Model 125 Stepping 7) However, the correct value is: Intel(R) Family: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) 2.5GHz (x86 Family 179 Model 45 Stepping 7)

Resolution
To prevent the issue from occurring, download the HP Custom Image or the HP Offline Bundle to update the providers as follows: The HP ESXi Offline Bundle for the VMware ESXi operating system includes the following update versions: HP Offline Bundle - hp-esxi5.0uX-bundle-1.4.5-3 The HP Provider VIB contains the updates in the bundle: ESXi Offline bundle and HP Images: hp-smx-provider-500.03.02.10.4-434156 Download the updates from either of the following locations: VMware vSphere 5.1 U1 - HP Custom ISO for vSphere 5.1 U1 includes the providers with the update and is available at the following URL: http://hp.com/go/esxidownload . OR HP Offline Bundle - Information and links to downloads for the HP Offline Bundle is available at the Software Delivery at the following URL: http://vibsdepot.hp.com OR As a workaround, the CPU Model can be retrieved by executing the following command in the VMware ESXi host. The output of this command will contain a field called"Model," which displaysthe required data: #esxcli hardware cpu list Note : The VMware ESXi 4.1 platform will not be updated.
