Description:

Info

The HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Graphical User Interface (hponcfg_gui.exe) Utility for Windows Version 4.00 (or later) does not modify the Standard Network Settings on HP Integrated Lights-Outs 2 (iLO 2) and iLO 3. When HPONCFG GUI is used to modify network settings from Network -> Standard Network Settings -> IPV4, the operation displays the following message: HPONCFG GUI implicitly sets a Transceiver speed of 1 Gbits/s which is not supported on iLO 2 and iLO 3 when any of the settings are modified on Network -> Standard Network Settings -> IPV4 page. Note: When Transceiver speed Auto select is disabled and 10 or 100 are selected, this will not be observed.

Scope

Any HP ProLiant server with HP iLO 2 or HP iLO 3.

Resolution

This is targeted to be resolved in a future version of the HPONCFG. As a workaround, to modify the network settings, perform any of the following: Use any version of HP Lights-Out Online Configuration CLI to modify network settings with Mod_Network_Settings.xml available as part of HP Lights-Out XML Scripting Sample for Windows. OR Use HP Lights-Out Configuration utility (HPQLOCFG.exe) to modify network settings with Mod_Network_Settings.xml available as part of HP Lights-Out XML Scripting Sample for Windows. OR Use HP iLO web page Network -> iLO Dedicated Network Port to modify network settings. This advisory will be updated when additional information is available.
