On an HP ProLiant ML10 v2 server configured with HP Smart Storage Administrator (SSA), after pressing F5 to launch SSA, there will be no response. As a result, a message similar to the following will be displayed: This occurs because the function F5 is not supported during Power-On Self-Test (POST). The HP ProLiant ML10 v2 Server does not include the NAND Flash chip on the server motherboard to start the HP Smart Storage Administrator (SSA). The POST message appears because the HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i is the embedded solution for the platform and the message cannot be removed/hidden/disabled since this is part of HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i option Read-only memory (ROM).

Resolution
The function F5 is not supported during Power-On Self-Test (POST). Refer to page 22 of the ProLiant ML10V2 user guide . As a workaround, perform the following steps: Download the HP ProLiant Offline HP Smart Storage Administrator ISO image from the HP website: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_704e02a48c974340b71eab2df1 Launch HP SSA from an ISO image.
