BF-32587 uncovered a bug in tcmalloc, as described here (https://github.com/google/tcmalloc/issues/229). Once that issue has been resolved, we should upgrade tcmalloc to include the fix. In the meantime, SERVER-89121 is a minimal fix on our end to put a bandaid over the issue.
