Say a collection contains document {a: NumberLong(5)} but the corresponding key in the {a: 1} index erroneously has type bits indicating that the value is NumberInt(5). This should be reported as an inconsistency by collection validation, but during the second phase of validation the map of missing index entries is keyed by index key without type bits. Thus is may not end up being reported.
