Description:

Symptoms

Assume that you have installed the Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin add-in together with the Master Data Services (MDS) Add-in for Microsoft Excel in Microsoft SQL Server. When you try to save a workbook as a PDF file by using the Convert to PDF feature of the Acrobat add-in, the PDF file is created successfully. However, the Excel application may crash with an access violation.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:        Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017        Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2016 RTM        Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 SP1        Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014 SP2
