This update improves the performance for columnstore Dynamic Management Views (DMV) column_store_row_groups and dm_db_column_store_row_group_physical_stats in SQL Server 2016 or 2017. After you install this update, the DMV execution might take less time to complete, and less memory is used.
This fix is included in the following updates: Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017 Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1 Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2016
