Description:

Symptoms

Assume that you create a Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) measure by using the XIRR function in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or 2017 Analysis Services (SSAS). When you open the measure in Power Pivot in Excel 2016 or Power BI Desktop, and try to process too many records (for example: more than 400 records), you may receive an error message that resembles the following: An unexpected exception occurred.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:        Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017        Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2016 RTM        Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
