Description:

Symptoms

Assume that you run an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or 2017 Analysis Services in Tabular mode. When you deploy a tabular model database to the instance, you may receive an error message that resembles the following: Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'There are ambiguous paths between fact_table_name and dimension_table_name: fact_table_name table_name table_namedimension_table_name and fact_table_nametable_namedimension_table_name

Resolution

This fix is included in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server: Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017 Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1
