Consider the following scenario: You use email subscriptions in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). You upgrade from SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services to SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services. On the Subscription page in SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services, there are multiple semi-colons (;) between the email subscription addresses on the To line. In this scenario, the data-driven subscription fails, and you receive the following error message: An invalid character was found in the mail header: ',' The entire subscription fails without generating the email.
This fix is included in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server: Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2017 Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2016 SP1 Cumulative Update 9 for SQL Server 2016.
