Description:

Symptoms

Assume that you create a view which has a multiple reference to a same synonym for the user-defined function (UDF) in its definition. You notice a dump occurs when you run select on the view.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server: Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2019 About cumulative updates for SQL Server Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and security fixes that were in the previous build. We recommend that you install the latest build for your version of SQL Server: Latest cumulative update for SQL Server 2019

Workaround

To work around the issue, don't use the same synonym for the UDF in the view definition.
