Affected releases:

8.0

Fixed releases:

No fixed releases provided.

Description:

Purpose

This article serves as a quick reference for information about backing up vSphere Templates.

Solution

To be able to select a template in the list of virtual infrastructure objects when adding objects to a Backup job, select the VMs and Templates view from the top-right view options. When processing container object that have been added to a Backup Job (e.g., folder, tag, datastore, host), Veeam Backup & Replication includes Templates automatically. To exclude Templates from being backed up, click on Exclusions and open the Templates tab and clear the “Backup VM templates” check box. The “Exclude templates from incremental backup” option allows you to control whether Templates are only included in Full restore points. Note: Replication of VM templates is not supported.
