Unsupported license deployment alarm in Veeam Service Provider Console

Last update date:

4/1/2022

Affected products:

Veeam Service Provider Console

Affected releases:

5.0

Fixed releases:

No fixed releases provided.

Description:

Challenge

Veeam Service Provider Console displays the alarm:

Cause

This alarm occurs when the same license is detected as having been installed on more than one Veeam Backup & Replication server managed by the VSPC server.

Solution

Starting with Veeam Service Provider Console v6, shared keys and cloned backup servers will no longer be supported for future integration with VCSP Pulse Automatic Usage Reporting mechanisms. Each Veeam Backup & Replication installation must have a unique license.  Before Veeam Service Provider Console v6 this alarm is informational only and does not affect product functionality. However, it is strongly advised that to ensure future compatibility a new unique license key is created and assigned to each Veeam Backup & Replication server. This will ensure full compatibility with VCSP Pulse auto-reporting mechanisms being released with Veeam Service Provider Console 6 release. Please note that it is possible to disable this alarm in Veeam Service Provider Console, under Configuration > Notifications > Alarms Management. In the list of alarms, look for the one named 'Unsupported license deployment. shared license key usage' and disable it.
