Description:

Challenge

Veeam Agent fails to run auto-update and download the latest version on the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Microsoft Windows Server 2012

Cause

Veeam Agent utilizes BITS to download the latest versions from https://download.veeam.com and requires TLS 1.2 to be enabled.

Solution

TLS 1.2 must be enabled in the aforementioned operating systems according to Microsoft recommendations. Ensure the OS is running on the latest updates and at least KB3140245 is installed. Enabled TLS 1.2 using this Microsoft EasyFix EasyFix 51044 Restart the machine
