As a result of ongoing R&D effort and in response to customer feedback, cumulative patch KB4278 provides a set of enhancements and bug fixes, the most significant of which are listed below:

What's New

In RESTful APIs, we reduced the number of requests to Microsoft Graph API to speed up the execution of the (GET) v6/organizations/{siteId}/sites request. Reduced time to retry the “Item has been changed during…” errors (status code 412) which you can receive during the main backup job run.

Resolved Issues

General Retention job may mistakenly remove SharePoint and OneDrive backup data (including Teams channel files) from an object storage repository. The issue applies to repositories configured with the snapshot-based retention and backup data migrated from a local Jet-based repository to object storage using the Move-VBOEntityData cmdlet. Under certain conditions, in object storage repositories, the retention job may fail with the “JetError -1605, JET_errKeyDuplicate” error. Backup Incremental SharePoint backup may fail with “The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator” error. Under certain conditions, backup of SharePoint sites created in non-Latin languages may fail with the “Length of parameter ResourceName exceeds specified max for the column” error. Restore Restore of SharePoint items’ attachments from an object storage repository fails with “Error: Recursive read lock acquisitions not allowed in this mode.” RESTful API The sizeBytes parameter in the (GET) /v5/RestoreSessions/{restoreSessionId}/Organization/OneDrives/{oneDriveId}/Documents/{documentId} response body returns negative values if the item size is larger than 2 GB.   This Cumulative Patch also includes all fixes that were present in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 5d Cumulative Patch KB4235, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 5d Cumulative Patch KB4222 and Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 5d Cumulative Patch KB4270.
