Description:
Challenge
After upgrading to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7, backup jobs that protect SharePoint Online objects (Websites, OneDrive, Personal Sites, Microsoft Teams) are interrupted with the following error: The remote server returned an error: (429)
Cause
In some cases, the default Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7 retry timeout may prove insufficient, leading to an excessive number of requests that could trigger higher throttling. Should this happen, the SharePoint Online throttling policy might hinder the requests sent by Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 during the backup.
Solution
The issue is addressed in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7 P20230421 (7.0.0.3007).
