Symptoms

How do I change the From address which appears in mails generated from Watch4netHow to configure the From address which appears in mails generated from Watch4NetHow to edit MAIL FROM with no-reply address to another email address for reportsemails are being rejected by the mail serverUnable to receive email from schedule report

Cause

The default value of the From address in Watch4net emails is no-reply@apgserver, but some mail servers may reject this value because "apgserver" is not a valid domain name.

Resolution

Use the mail.from Java system property to change the From address. 1) modify <BASEDIR>/bin/apg.properties by adding: mail.smtp.from=xxx@xxx.com(Watch4net 5.x)mail.from=xxx@xxx.com when using mail.from, all mail from reports will be coming from this address. 2) restart tomcat service: <BASEDIR>/APG/bin/apg-tomcat-default stop<BASEDIR>/APG/bin/apg-tomcat-default start
