Description:
Symptoms
Smarts TSM (Topology Split Manager) is resolving an external IP address
Cause
This problem can occur if the internal network is not running DNS but the external node of the device is being resolved in DNS. Even though the device has been seeded into TSM with the SNMP address, the device is being resolved to the external IP address. This causes the unreachable external IP address to be placed into the discovery pending list of the Smarts AM-PM server, and the discovery will fail.
Resolution
This issue requires the assistance of EMC Support for Smarts to resolve. Contact your EMC Support representative or the EMC Support Center and quote this solution ID.
