System limit exceeded error message during discovery from SMARTS AM server

Description:

Symptoms

No problem discovering from Performance Manager server. "Nothing in the repository to initiate auto-discovery" error appears in Discovery Progress window. "System limit exceeded" error occurs in AM server log

Resolution

Check trial license file. License limitations on discovery from AM server only. AP_SYSTEM_VOL feature in license files control the amount of devices which can be discovered.Example: INCREMENT AP_SYSTEM_VOLUME sm_lmgrd92 permanent 6 BCC9498CE684\VENDOR_STRING=BlockSize=50 SN=DO574760732 TS_OK Licenses are issued in blocks of 50 so the above line provides 300 device licenses. 50x6=300.
