Symptoms

Cannot see discovery progress in Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server during discovery Show discovery process in the Smarts Domain Manager console does not show any discovery data for Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server

Cause

There is no discovery progress for the Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server because this server does not perform discovery through the ICF_TopologyManager. The only place to view discovery progress for the Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server is the log file.The Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server discovery process is as follows:The Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server subscribes to the DiscoveryInProgress event from Smarts IP-AM.A router is discovered in Smarts IP-AM.The Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server receives an instance of the DiscoveryInProgress event.Ths Smarts MPLS VPN-Tagging server completes and logs the router discovery accordingly.

Resolution

No fix is available or required for this Smarts MPLS behavior. Smarts MPLS is functioning as designed.
