E1 logical interface in Smarts IP Availability and Performance Manager is not alarming when down
Smarts IP does not generate events for adapters if the mode is BACKUP or ONDEMAND. This is documented in the performance guide. Also by default, Smarts IP suppresses the logical interface down event if physical interface which overlays the logical interface is down. So, even if the logical interface has Mode set to NORMAL, if the physical interface is down, the logical interface alarm will still be suppressed.
To get the E1 logical interface event, set the SM_LOGICALCONNECTIONDOWN=DISABLED in the Smarts IP runcmd_env.sh file. Also ensure that the MODE is set to NORMAL.
