Symptoms
Modify default attributes in Smarts SAM my_trap_rules.asl does not workModify default DISCARD_TRAP in Smarts SAM my_trap_rules.asl does not workChanging DISCARD_TRAP to TRUE in the trap adapter hookscript does not work
Cause
In <BASEDIR>/SAM/smarts/rules/icoi-trapd/trap_mgr_parse.asl, it set the all the variables for the hookscript driver explicitly before starting the driver. For every trap, all the values are reset first in ASL_RESET, and attributes of the trap are set in ASL_CUSTOMIZATION. In the RESET function in trap_mgr_parse.asl, it set the value of "FALSE" for every trap and send those values for every trap to the hookscript as well.
Resolution
Set the value for DISCARD_TRAP or any other attributes with in the START block or START's do{} block.
