Description:

Symptoms

When IP tags are added to the VRRPGroup, the Smarts IP topology shows two IP addresses for each VRRPGroup Interface

Cause

VRRPGroups Interfaces have virtural IP addresses. When an IP tag is created for VRRPGroup Interface, Smarts IP keeps the orginal IP Address and creates a secondary IP Address with a Tag. This is shown in the following: <BASEDIR>/IP/smarts/bin/dmctl -s INCHARGE-AM getI | grep 10.x.x.1 IP-10.x.x.1 IP-10.x.x.1/BEDT_GA VRRP-DEBEDTHSW0001R/10.x.x.1/2-1 VRRP-GROUP-10.x.x.1 The reason is that IP address for VRRPGroups Interfaces are Virtual IP Addresses, so the Actual IP address is managed and the Tagged IP address is not managed.

Resolution

No fix is available or required. Smarts IP is functioning as designed.
