Symptoms

Cisco devices are sometimes discovered as Alcatel, when Alcatel device classes are selected for Autodiscovery.

Cause

This issue occurrence is due to a variable defined in Alcatel Omniswitch driver code.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, implement the following steps in the Device Server.1) Check if $VOYENCE_HOME/custompackage/alcatel/omniswitch/devOmniSwitch.dasl file exists. If the file exists, skip to step 4.2) If the file does not exist, create the directory structure alcatel/omniswitch under $VOYENCE_HOME/custompackage.3) Copy the file $VOYENCE_HOME/package/alcatel/omniswitch/devOmniSwitch.dasl to $VOYENCE_HOME/custompackage/alcatel/omniswitch4) Open the file $VOYENCE_HOME/custompackage/alcatel/omniswitch/devOmniSwitch.dasl, search for following line :var OmniSwOidPrefix;and change it to:var OmniSwOidPrefix = "-1";Save and close the file.5) Restart voyence service.6) After voyence service comes up, schedule device discovery.
