Setting the HCX IX/NE appliance VM CPU reservation within the HCX manager Compute Profile UI may result in a reservation request failure This occurs when a large reservation value such as 95% or greater is applied due to a lack of available CPU resource on the ESXi host that the appliance resides on
To identify a known issue when a large CPU reservation value is applied to an HCX appliance VM.
The max CPU reservation value that the HCX manager is using in its reservation calculation does not take into account the 2-3GHZ reserved for Kernel by the ESXi host. This may result in a CPU reservation failure due to a lack of CPU resources on the ESXi host to fulfill the request.
The CPU reservation workflow may fail.
None
Reduce the CPU reservation until the task succeeds.
