Description:

Issue

When you send a Mobile VPN .wgm configuration file to an Android user, the email application on the Android device might not recognize the attachment as being associated with the Mobile VPN application on the device.

Workaround/Solution

Try to use a different email application on the Android device if possible, or use the Android native VPN client and manually configure Mobile VPN to avoid use of the .wgm file all together. For instructions on how to use the native Android VPN client with your Firebox, see Use Mobile VPN with IPSec with an Android Device in Fireware Help. Note: The WatchGuard Mobile VPN client for Android is no longer available in the Google Play app store. We removed this application after feedback from users in the community indicated the app was not effective on many Android devices. Users had difficulty importing the VPN profile into the application because of restrictions on file movement in some combinations of Android device and OS.
