Description:

Issue

If an attachment matches an SMTP Proxy rule for Filename that is set to Strip, and the rule for Content Type is set to AV Scan, the Firebox will fail to strip the attachment. The log messages will indicate that the proxy stripped the attachment successfully, but the user will receive the attachment. This issue does not occur with Fireware v11.10 or earlier releases.

Workaround/Solution

To allow Filename rules to strip specific file names, view your Content Types rule in Advanced View, and add a rule for the Content Type that the filename will match to Allow. For example, if you add a rule to allow Application/*zip*, zip files that have content types can be stripped by the Filename rule.
