Description:

Issue

iOS devices that run version 10.x.x may be unable log in to a captive portal splash page with social media authentication. When you use a captive portal with iOS devices, the iOS pop-up mini-browser that automatically appears when you connect to the portal can result in complications with the loading of some types of external splash pages, including social media login pages.

Workaround/Solution

Use iOS 11 or higher on your client device.Use the Safari web browser instead of the iOS pop-up mini-browser to authenticate to the social media site. You can include captive.apple.com in the Walled Garden sites list in the Captive Portal settings for an SSID profile to prevent the use of the iOS mini browser when guest clients connect to a portal. For more information, see Captive Portal Settings.
