After you log in to a remote system with RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) over Mobile VPN with SSL from a Windows 10 version 1809 system, the connection might lag badly, or fail with a black screen. This occurs because Windows 10 version 1809 uses UDP packets for RDP session data. Through a Mobile VPN with SSL connection, the UDP packets can arrive out of order.
To avoid this issue, follow these steps to disable UDP transport for Remote Desktop on the client system: 1. In the Windows Search bar, type gpedit.msc and press Enter. 2. In the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Template > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Connection Client. 3. Double-click Turn Off UDP On Client. 4. Select Enabled. 5. Click OK and close the Local Group Policy Editor. 6. In the Windows Search bar, type gpupdate /force and press Enter.
