Description:

Issue

In Android 6.0 and higher, the device automatically tries to connect to connectivitycheck.gstatic.com to test the device's wireless connectivity. Because gstatic.com is included in the default Walled Garden sites for a Captive Portal, this check is successful and results in users not being notified to connect to your captive portal for wireless access. This issue was resolved in Wi-Fi Cloud, March 2017.

Workaround/Solution

In the Walled Sites configuration for your Captive Portal (configured in the SSID Profile), remove the gstatic.com entry and save the configuration. In addition, we recommend you add fonts.gstatic.com and fonts.googleapis.com to the Walled Garden sites list to make sure captive portal splash pages display correctly with quick load times. For more information, see About Authentication Sites and Walled Garden.
