Description:

Issue

If you try to save a configuration file from a legacy wireless XTM21-W, XTM22-W, XTM23-W, XTM25-W, or XTM26-W device to a new wireless Firebox, the configuration file will fail to save and you will see this error message: The OS version of the Firebox or configuration file does not support the current wireless configuration settings. Before you can save the configuration for this OS version, you must disable wireless, and change the OS compatibility setting to match the OS version on this device. Then enable and configure wireless.

Workaround/Solution

To save the configuration file to your Firebox, you must follow these steps. 1. In Policy Manager, select Setup > System. The Device Configuration dialog appears. There are two drop-down menus next to Firebox Model. One specifies the series, one the specific model. 2. From the specific model drop-down list, select a non-wireless device model.3. Click OK.4. Select Setup > System again. The Device Configuration dialog appears.5. From the series drop-down list, select the series that matches your new wireless Firebox.6. From the specific model drop-down list, select the model of your new wireless Firebox.7. Click OK.8. Select File > Save to Firebox and save the configuration to your new Firebox.
