Description:

Issue

When you connect to a Firebox IP address or domain name with WatchGuard System Manager, that IP address or domain name is cached by WatchGuard System Manager to select for future connections. At this time there is no way to remove those cached IP addresses or domain names.

Workaround/Solution

To clear or modify the cached IP addresses or domain names, you must alter the Windows Registry. Warning: Errors made with registry edits can cause applications to fail unexpectedly. Do not try this unless you are very comfortable with the Registry Editor and you know how to assess the potential risks. We highly recommend that you do a backup of the registry (or the whole system) before you make any modifications to the registry. Steps: 1. To start the Registry Editor, regedit in the Windows search bar. Alternatively, open a Windows command prompt and type regedit. 2. In the registry, select Edit>Find. 3. Search for fbMRU.The fbMRU key appears in the right-side pane. 4. Double-click the fbMRU key. 5. In the Value data textbox, the cached IP addresses and DNS names appear, separated by spaces. Remove or modify these values to match what you want to appear cached in WatchGuard System Manager. Make sure the values are each separated by single space. 6. Click OK. 7. Close the Registry Editor.
