Description:

Issue

If you use a console cable or XTMv console to connect to the CLI for your Firebox, it is not possible to use the CTRL-C key combination to exit from command output. Some commands, such as ping or tcpdump, are endless by default. To exit those commands, you must reboot the Firebox.

Workaround/Solution

For the ping and tcpdump commands, you can use the -c flag to specify how long to run the command. For example, ping 203.0.113.2 -c 50 will ping that IP address only 50 times and then stop. If you connect by IP address with a telnet/SSH application, this issue does not occur.
