Issue

If your Dimension system is configured to use Active Directory (AD) authentication, Dimension will try to validate the AD configuration each time a new device is added for Dimension Command. If this validation process takes too long, the Dimension system may fail to add the new device, and Dimension Command will show a status of Disabled for this device.

Workaround/Solution

There are two possible workarounds for this issue: This issue will most often occur if Dimension is unable to resolve the domain name for Active Directory. Make sure that the primary DNS server configured on your Dimension system is a server inside your network that can quickly and correctly resolve internal addresses, and that this server is always able to respond to the Dimension system's requests.If this issue persists, you can work around this issue by disabling the use of Active Directory on your Dimension system.
