Description:

Issue

When you try to install or upgrade WatchGuard Endpoint Security on Windows XP computers, the error, "Unable to download the protection (-2146893018)" shows in the management UI.

Workaround/Solution

You can use a computer with the cache role to install or upgrade the WatchGuard Endpoint Security software on Windows XP computers. Cache computers automatically download and store files required by other computers with WatchGuard Endpoint Security installed.This process is not immediate and can take a few hours to complete.To install or upgrade a Windows XP computer: In WatchGuard Cloud, select Configure > Endpoints.Select Settings.Select Network Services.Select the Cache tab.Click Add Cache Computer.Use the search tool to find the computers you want to designate as a cache computer.Select a computer from the list.Click OK.The selected computer downloads all necessary files to keep its repository automatically synchronized. All other computers on the same subnet contact the cache computer for updates, including Windows XP computers. To verify that the installation or upgrade completed without error, open the computer details page for the Windows XP computer. Select Computers and then select the computer in the table.
