Description:

Issue

Fireboxes with built-in SFP/SFP+ ports or that support SFP/SFP+ modules can use media-specific transceivers to interconnect with other networking equipment. The list of supported transceivers for Fireboxes with built-in SFP/SFP+ ports or modular interfaces is available here: Supported transceivers for Firebox appliances In certain cases you might encounter connection issues that involve interoperability or negotiation issues with other third-party transceivers or network equipment.

Workaround/Solution

Check the following if you encounter connectivity issues with your transceivers installed on the Firebox built-in SFP/SFP+ ports or modular interfaces: Make sure the transceivers you use with your Firebox built-in SFP/SFP+ ports or modular interface are supported. For more information, go to Supported transceivers for Firebox appliances.Make sure the third-party transceiver you use on the other end of the connection supports the same modes of operation and are compatible with the transceivers on your Firebox. Check the negotiation settings on your third-party equipment. Make sure they are set to Auto-negotiate. If this is does not work, try to set the negotiation settings to a specific speed such as 1G or 10G as required. Some transceivers might only support specific speeds.
