Description:

Issue

When you try to upgrade the Fireware OS or make configuration changes to your Firebox Cloud instance in AWS, it might crash. This issue might be found on these instance types: m4.Largem4.xlargec4.xlargec4.2xlarge

Workaround/Solution

If you encounter this issue, we recommend you change your Firebox Cloud instance type to one of these options: c5.largec5.xlargec5.2xlarge To change your Firebox Cloud instance type: Log in to the AWS Management Console at aws.amazon.com.From the top navigation bar, select Services > Compute > EC2.From the navigation menu, in the Instances section, click Instances.Select your instance.Click Actions > Instance settings > Change instance type.Select the new instance type.Launch the instance. C5 instance types require the Elastic Network Adapter (ENA) to be enabled. For more information, go to Enable enhanced networking with the Elastic Network Adapter (ENA) on Linux instances. WatchGuard supports ENA in Fireware v12.7 or higher. If you cannot change your instance type to C5 because ENA is not enabled and you receive an error that ENA support is required, this means your Firebox was originally deployed with a lower version of Fireware. You must redeploy Firebox Cloud and select a C5 instance type. When you redeploy an instance, you can move your elastic IP and networks to the new instance. For more information, go to Deploy Firebox Cloud on AWS. If you have a BYOL license type, you must apply the instance ID of your new Firebox to the existing feature key: Find and copy your original instance ID in WatchGuard System Manager (WSM) or Fireware Web UI.In your new Firebox Cloud instance, log in to Fireware Web UI and go to System Status > VM Information. Record the instance ID.Create a case with WatchGuard Customer Care to change the instance ID to the new ID number and get your new feature key.In Fireware Web UI, go to System > Feature Key > Update to update your feature key. We continue to investigate this issue and will update this article when more information is available.
