Update: On 20 June 2023, we deployed a knowledge update that resolved this issue. It is no longer necessary to complete the workaround steps. If you disabled anti-exploit protection, we recommend that you re-enable it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Windows 11 computers with WatchGuard Endpoint Security anti-exploit protection enabled, or without Google Chrome set as the default browser, Chrome does not open after you install Microsoft KB5027119 and KB5027231 patches.
Workaround 1 (Recommended): Set Chrome as the default browser. From the affected computer, open Google Chrome.Click the three dots icon in the upper-right corner.Select Settings.Select Default Browser and select Chrome. Workaround 2: Create a new settings profile with the anti-exploit protection disabled and apply it to all computers that experience this issue. From the Endpoint Security management UI, select the Settings tab and click Add.From the left pane, select Workstations and Servers.Expand the Advanced Protection section and disable Anti-exploit protection. Save the settings and add the recipients or computers you want to apply the new profile to. Note: We recommend that you postpone installation of Microsoft KB5027119 and KB5027231 security patches until a solution to this issue is available. We will update this article when the issue is resolved.
