Description:

Issue

The Ethernet interfaces on the T20, T40, and T80 might not complete a physical network link when connected to devices that do not support full duplex connections. The WAN Interface 0 supports both half and full duplex connections. The LAN interfaces only support full duplex connections. For more information, go to T20, T25, T40, and T45 interfaces 1 to 4 support Full Duplex only in the Knowledge Base.

Workaround/Solution

Make sure the Firebox LAN interfaces and the network devices you connect to these ports are set to auto-negotiation or full duplex. If the connected device does not support full duplex/Gigabit capabilities, the connection might work if you change the cable between the Firebox and the device from a regular Ethernet patch cable to a crossover cable.
