Description:

Issue

This Known Issue applies to WatchGuard Advanced EPDR, EPDR, EDR, EDR Core, and EPP. On endpoints with WatchGuard Endpoint Security Windows protection v8.00.21.XXXX or higher installed, email reception in Outlook is slow or not possible in computers with Email Antivirus protection enabled. For information on how to determine your protection version, go to Determine the Software Version in Help Center.

Workaround/Solution

WatchGuard Endpoint Security products with Email Antivirus enabled detect threats received over the POP3 protocol and encrypted variants. This feature uses traditional and static technologies to scan email. WatchGuard Endpoint Security also includes POP3 email protection through contextual and other advanced detection technologies. Email Antivirus is disabled by default. If you experience connection issues with Outlook, disable Email Antivirus or create a settings profile with Email Antivirus disabled and then assign it to the affected endpoints. To disable Email Antivirus in an existing settings profile, in the Endpoint Security management UI: Select Settings. From the left pane, select Workstations and Servers.Open the settings profile you want to disable Email Antivirus for.In the Antivirus section, disable the Email Antivirus toggle.Select Save.
