Description:

Issue

On Firebox T25-W and T45-W-PoE devices, you might be prompted to configure a global default gateway setting when you configure the external interface as a wireless client. The global default gateway should only be required when the Firebox is configured in drop-in mode or when no external interfaces are configured.Because Policy Manager does not recognize the wireless interface as an external interface, it requires the global default gateway setting because no physical interfaces are configured as the external interface.

Workaround/Solution

From Network > Interfaces, enter the wireless interface gateway IP address into the default gateway configuration setting. If you do not know the default gateway IP address, enter a random IP address that does not exist on any connected interface. The global default gateway configuration takes priority over the wireless external interface. When you enter a random IP address that is not part of any attached interface, the ARP lookup fails, and the global default gateway is not be added to the routing table.
